4 Tips for Incorporating Abstract Art in Your Home

Posted on

You don't have to be an art expert in order to hang beautiful contemporary art in your home. Contemporary art is beautiful, and it can really enhance the appearance of your home. The key to enjoying contemporary art in your home is knowing how to incorporate it into your home.

Tip #1: Look into Neutral Contemporary Art

Many people associate contemporary art with really bright, colorful art. Although there is a lot of bright, colorful contemporary art, there are lots of art that are made from neutral colors, such as greys, blacks, and browns.

Contemporary art is not just about lots of colors, it is about the use of various styles and shapes in unexpected manners. You can add more neutral art, with a focus on only a few colors and simpler graphics. You can easily incorporate neutral art into your home décor.

Tip #2: Work with the Colors in Your Home

The second thing you should do is work with the colors in your home. If your home has accent colors, try to find some contemporary art that contains the same accent colors that you use in your home. There is lots of contemporary art that only contains a few key colors.

For example, if you have salmon pink accents in your home, look for some contemporary art that contains salmon pink. Or if you have turquoise as the accent color in your home, look for art that features turquoise. Highlighting and working with the colors in the home is a great way to incorporate some contemporary art into your home.

Tip #3: Think About the Size of the Art

The third thing you need to do is think about the size of the artwork. If you have a small apartment space, you should go with a small or medium-sized print so that the artwork doesn't overwhelm in the room. If you live in a large home, you can go with a larger print or with a larger piece of contemporary artwork. Keep in mind that a large piece of art needs a lot of space to balance it out.

Tip #4: Have Fun with Placement

Finally, make sure that you have fun with the placement of the artwork. Contemporary artwork doesn't have to only be placed in the bedroom or living room. It can also go in the kitchen, entryway or bathroom.

When it comes to incorporating art into your home, consider either neutral contemporary art or artwork that works with the accent colors in your home. Make sure the artwork is not too large for your space, and have some fun when it comes to deciding where to place the artwork.
